The predicted salary is between 25000 - 30000 £ per year.

To provide supervision in managing the day-to-day operations associated with a waste collection operation. To promote a good company image at all times, and develop good relations with customers, contractors, regulators and other officials of statutory bodies. To comply with Company policies, arrangements and schedules, as produced from time to time to ensure compliance with statutory and legal obligations.

Conduct regular monitoring inspections to promote and support a culture of safety awareness and safe working. Ensure that all collection personnel fully comply with safety practices and procedures. Strive to minimize the risk of accidents. Ensure that accidents are reported, investigated fully and that any resulting recommendations are implemented. Ensure that the policies of both the Company and client are fully complied with and that the requirements of relevant legislation are met.

Supervise the operation to ensure that contractual requirements are monitored and targets are delivered. Ensure that potential problems are identified and resolved at an early stage and escalated where appropriate. Performance manage employees, giving guidance, coaching and instruction as needed and where appropriate conduct first line investigations and disciplinary meetings.

Use IT systems to help improve services and deliver added value or efficiencies that will improve service levels and financial performance of the business. To manage colleague attendance and allocate appropriate resource to ensure the service can be delivered on a daily basis. Respond to all enquiries and stage 1 complaints in line with policies in a comprehensive and precise manner.

Work closely with group transport manager to maintain O’ licence compliance. Attend meetings as required. Work closely with Amber Valley Borough Council Officers on joint projects.

Duration: This is a temp to perm position

Contract Type: Permanent

Hourly Rate: This is to be discussed at interview stage and is dependent on experience

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 0400 - 1400 - sometimes can be a later finish depending on operations. When a bank holiday falls, the week then becomes Tuesday to Saturday for operations.

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Knowledge and awareness of health and safety knowledge and understanding of legislative and statutory obligations which affect refuse collection and waste disposal
  • Cat C1 Driving Licence
  • Experience using MS Office and other computer systems
  • Good local knowledge
  • Supervisory experience
  • Good communication skills both written and verbal
  • Ability to work as an individual and part of a wider team
