We’re recruiting a reliable 7.5T Refuse Driver to join a busy waste collection team based in Alfreton. Working alongside a team of loaders, you’ll drive designated routes across Derbyshire, collecting household and commercial waste safely and efficiently. You’ll also carry out daily vehicle checks, report any defects, complete any required paperwork, and ensure all work is carried out in line with health and safety procedures. This is a great opportunity for an experienced driver looking for long-term, stable work with regular hours.

  • Duration: This position is temporary but will lead to a permanent contract.
  • Contract Type: Temporary
  • Hourly Rate: £14 per hour for first 8 hours, £21 per hour anything over, and Saturday hours.
  • Holiday: 28 days holiday per year.
  • Working Hours: This is a Monday to Friday position with an early start at 05:45am and a late finish around 14:00pm.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Valid UK Category C1 (7.5T) driving licence.
  • Valid CPC qualification and Digital Tachograph Card.
  • Previous experience driving a 7.5T vehicle is preferred.
  • Good understanding of driver hours and road transport regulations.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Reliable, punctual, and safety-conscious approach to work.
  • Physically fit and comfortable working in an outdoor environment.
