Want a driving role that offers early finishes, a great work-life balance, and the opportunity to secure a permanent contract? We’re looking for experienced 7.5 Tonne Drivers to join a busy waste collection service in Alfreton.
As part of a dedicated refuse collection crew, you’ll be responsible for driving planned routes throughout Derbyshire, collecting household and commercial waste safely and efficiently. Working closely with your team of loaders, you’ll ensure collections are completed on schedule while maintaining excellent safety standards throughout the working day.
Before leaving the depot each morning, you’ll carry out routine vehicle inspections, report any defects, and complete all required driver documentation.
Duration: This is an ongoing temporary role with a genuine opportunity to secure a permanent position for the right candidate.
Contract Type: Temporary
Hourly Rate: Pay Rates
£14.00 per hour for the first 8 hours worked each day
£21.00 per hour after 8 hours and for all Saturday hours worked
Holiday entitlement accrues up to 28 days per year, pro rata, throughout your assignment.
Working Hours: This is a Monday to Friday position with a 5:45am start and typical finishes around 2:00pm, allowing you to enjoy your afternoons. There is no regular weekend working, although overtime is available when required.
Experience & Qualifications
To be considered for the role, you will need:
- A valid UK Category C1 (7.5 Tonne) Driving Licence
- A valid Driver CPC Qualification Card
- A valid Digital Tachograph Card
- Previous experience driving a 7.5 Tonne vehicle is desirable
- A good understanding of drivers’ hours legislation and road transport regulations
- The ability to work well within a team environment
- A reliable, punctual, and safety-focused attitude
- A good level of physical fitness and willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions
