Are you an experienced Estimator with a background in fabrication, welding or engineering manufacturing? We’re recruiting on behalf of a growing engineering and fabrication business that delivers bespoke manufacturing projects across a wide range of industries. From architectural metalwork and structural fabrication to conveyors, material handling equipment and bespoke engineering solutions, no two projects are the same. This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive and expanding business where you’ll play a key role in producing accurate quotations and helping secure a varied pipeline of engineering projects.

THE ROLE

Working closely with customers, suppliers and the production team, you’ll be responsible for preparing competitive quotations and ensuring projects are accurately costed before manufacture. Duties include:

  • Reviewing customer enquiries, engineering drawings and specifications
  • Producing quotations for bespoke fabrication and engineering projects
  • Estimating material, labour, machining, finishing and subcontract costs
  • Obtaining supplier and subcontractor pricing
  • Managing multiple quotations and prioritising urgent enquiries
  • Supporting the handover of successful projects into production
  • Following up quotations and building strong customer relationships

Experience & Qualifications

ABOUT YOU

You’ll ideally come from a fabrication, welding or engineering manufacturing background and have a good understanding of workshop processes. You’ll also have:

  • Experience preparing quotations or estimates within engineering or fabrication
  • The ability to read engineering and fabrication drawings
  • Good commercial awareness and attention to detail
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Office
  • Experience within sheet metal, architectural metalwork, conveyors, material handling equipment, laser cutting, machining or bespoke manufacturing would be highly advantageous.
  • Knowledge of estimating software such as RADAN, Radquote or WorkPLAN would also be beneficial but isn’t essential.
