We are currently recruiting for a Class 2 (HGV) Refuse Driver to work within the Caenby Corner (LN8) area, supporting local waste collection services. This is a hands-on role where you’ll be responsible for the safe and efficient collection of household waste, working as part of a team to keep the community clean and running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities

  • Driving a Class 2 refuse vehicle on planned residential routes.
  • Assisting loaders with the collection of household waste when required (not often).
  • Carrying out daily vehicle checks and reporting any defects.
  • Ensuring all collections are completed safely and in line with regulations.
  • Providing a professional and courteous service to the public.

Duration: Long term, permanent opportunities.

Contract Type: Temporary

Hourly Rate: £13.47 p/h for the first 37 hours. All hours over paid at £20.20 (Guaranteed minimum of at least 1 hour over time each week). Minimum weekly pay: £519.89.

Weekly Pay: 28 days annual leave pro-rata.

Working Hours: Monday - Friday, 4 day working week, 06:45 start time, 9.75 hour shifts averaging 37 hours a week (All hours over 37 paid at time and a half). 30 minute breaks.

Closing Date: 2026-06-16

Experience & Qualifications

  • Valid Class 2 (Category C) licence (will take new passes).
  • Valid CPC and Digital Tachograph card.
  • Previous experience in refuse driving or a similar role preferred, but not essential.
  • Good level of physical fitness (due to the nature of the role).
  • Strong team player with a positive attitude.
