Drivers Mate – Home Deliveries
Immediate starts available! Early starts, long shifts and a hands-on role working as part of a great team.
QS Recruitment are currently recruiting Drivers Mates to join our team in the Bunny area of Nottingham, assisting with the delivery of large household appliances directly to customers’ homes across the UK.
This is a physical, hands-on role involving heavy lifting, customer service and working alongside a van driver to ensure appliances are delivered safely and efficiently. You will be part of a two-person delivery team, helping to load, unload and carry appliances into customers’ homes.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting the van driver with deliveries across the UK in a 3.5-tonne low-loader van.
- Working as part of a two-person team to complete deliveries safely and efficiently.
- Loading, unloading and carrying heavy items, including cookers, fridge freezers, TVs and other large household appliances.
- Using a shoulder dolly to assist with moving heavy goods and reducing physical strain.
- Delivering appliances directly into customers’ homes.
- Providing excellent customer service and maintaining a friendly, professional attitude.
- Supporting the driver with delivery routes and ensuring deliveries are completed efficiently.
- Following health and safety procedures throughout the delivery process.
Duration: Temporary work but ongoing and potentially permanent for the right drivers!
Contract Type: Temporary
Hourly Rate: This position will pay £12.71 per hour.Holiday accrual of up to 28 days pro rata.Please note that we are unable to offer visa sponsorship for this position.
Working Hours: Working HoursMonday to Saturday shifts availableStart times between 4:00 am and 6:00 am.Shifts typically last 10–12 hours.

Requirements
- To be considered for this role, you will need:
- Your own transport to get to the client’s location, as public transport may not be suitable for the early start times.
- To be physically fit and comfortable lifting and carrying heavy household appliances.
- A positive attitude and a willingness to work hard as part of a two-person team.
- Good communication skills and a customer-focused approach.
- Reliability and punctuality, with the ability to work early starts and long shifts.
- A willingness to work Monday to Saturday as required.
- Previous delivery or warehouse experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
