Job Description
Are you an experienced Class 1 Driver looking for regular weekday work without the hassle of manual handling? We’re recruiting professional HGV Class 1 Drivers to join an established transport operation, offering consistent trunking routes, competitive pay and ongoing work.
This opportunity is ideal for drivers who prefer depot-to-depot deliveries, predictable working patterns and a role where loading and unloading is handled by forklift.
You’ll be responsible for transporting goods safely between depots on regional and national routes, using curtain-sided trailers. Your priority will be completing allocated journeys efficiently, meeting delivery schedules and maintaining high standards of road safety.
There is no handballing involved, as loading and unloading are carried out using a forklift. You’ll need to follow transport procedures, ensure your vehicle is roadworthy and comply with all relevant driving and working-time regulations, including RTWTR requirements.
Duration: This is an ongoing temporary position offering regular weekly work and the potential for a long-term assignment.
Contract Type: Temporary
Hourly Rate: The position pays £18.50 per hour, with the opportunity to accrue up to 28 days of annual leave per year. You’ll also benefit from approximately 55 hours of work per week, regular Monday-to-Friday shifts and no manual handling. Please note: We cannot accept applications from candidates requiring visa sponsorship or those working under a Skilled Worker visa, including applicants subject to a maximum 20-hour working restriction.
Working Hours: The standard working pattern is Monday to Friday, generally 06:00–17:00, with approximately 55 hours available per week. This is a regular weekday role with consistent work throughout the week.
Closing Date: 20261022
Experience & Qualifications
You must hold a full UK Driving Licence with Category CE entitlement, a valid Digital Tachograph Card and a valid Driver CPC Card. A minimum of 12 months’ Class 1 driving experience is essential.
For insurance purposes, you must have no more than six penalty points for minor motoring offences. Applicants must not have DR, DD, IN, CU or MS convictions.
You’ll need to be dependable, safety-conscious and capable of working professionally while completing regional and national trunking routes.
