Job Description
Recently passed your Class 2 test or already have experience behind the wheel? We’re looking for dependable HGV Class 2 Drivers to join an established operation in Ilkeston, offering regular weekday work and the opportunity to progress into permanent employment.
This role is ideal for drivers who enjoy being out on the road, managing their own deliveries and providing a professional service to customers.
You’ll be responsible for carrying out deliveries and collections along your allocated routes, ensuring goods are transported securely and reach their destinations on time. You’ll need to organise your working day effectively, follow route instructions and maintain safe driving standards throughout each shift.
As the role involves regular contact with customers, a friendly and professional manner is essential. You’ll be expected to work independently, communicate clearly and represent the company positively at each delivery or collection point.
Duration: This is an ongoing temporary opportunity with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate. Regular work is available, making it a good option for drivers seeking a longer-term position.
Contract Type: Temporary
Hourly Rate: The role pays £15.00 per hour PAYE, with the opportunity to accrue up to 28 days of annual leave pro rata. You’ll benefit from Monday-to-Friday working, regular daytime shifts, consistent work and the possibility of securing a permanent position. Please note: Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
Working Hours: The position runs Monday to Friday, with early morning starts and regular daytime shifts. Working hours are generally consistent, although some additional time may be required depending on the daily workload.
Closing Date: 20261022
Experience & Qualifications
You must hold a valid UK HGV Class 2 licence with Category C entitlement, a valid Driver CPC and a Digital Tachograph Card. Newly qualified Class 2 drivers are welcome to apply, while previous driving experience would be an advantage.
You’ll need a reliable and professional approach, a good understanding of UK roads and driving regulations, and strong communication skills. The ability to manage your route independently and deliver a positive customer experience is also important.
