Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead in the preparation and implementation of a well-structured and progressive coaching programme ensuring a high quality, enjoyable coaching experience centred on the needs of the participants.
- Develop BTEC resources, teach units and lead on assessment and marking of students work
- Deliver classroom sessions for the College Academy players
- Lead on communication with parents and carers of students
- Support career pathway of students
- Deliver practical football coaching sessions for the academy players.
- Support retention of college students as employees, degree students and personal trainer candidates.
- To develop one to one and group mentoring relationships with young people.
- Monitor and evaluate the students development during the football sessions and in partnership with education provider monitor their education.
- Manage the recruitment and trials for the Academy intake annually.
- Maintain close links with the education provider to support them in ensuring the players are up to date with the course work.
- General Responsibilities
- Ensure all activities are delivered to the standards outlines in the Trust/Club’s Equal Opportunities, Health and Safety and Child Protection policies.
- Record and store sensitive data in line with the QPR Trust’s GDPR policies
- Participate in the appraisal process.
- Undertake every opportunity to promote a positive image of QPR in the Community Trust and Queens Park Rangers Football Club.
- Personal Specification
Skills/Knowledge/Experience
- Knowledge of the KS5 curriculum, including BTEC Sport
- Experience of tutoring/teaching young people aged 16-19yrs old in an education setting.
- Experience of coaching football to ages 16-19yrs old
- Mentoring other staff through coaching/teaching.
- Experience of working with socially excluded young people.
- Knowledge of how to offer pastoral support to students
- Personal Qualities
- Sensitive to the needs of young people.
- Passion for working with young people and using sport to help inspire change.
- Have a genuine interest in creating opportunities through sport and education for disadvantaged people within the community.
- A passion for self-development and a willingness to find and undertake continuing professional development (CPD) opportunities.

- Driving Licence and access to a vehicle (Essential)
- UEFA C (Essential)
- Level 3 Teaching Qualification (Desirable)
- UEFA B (Desirable)
- In-date DBS/Safeguarding/Emergency Aid (Desirable)
