Role Overview

Pristine Supported Living LTD is seeking an experienced Registered Manager to support the launch, CQC registration, development, and growth of a new domiciliary care service. The successful candidate will help establish safe, compliant, person-centred care and ensure the service is safe, effective, caring, responsive, and well-led.

Key Responsibilities

The Registered Manager will lead one CQC domiciliary care location. Duties include acting as Registered Manager; meeting CQC Fundamental Standards; developing governance, audits, QA, policies, procedures, and compliance systems; overseeing safe, person-centred care; supporting assessments, care plans, risk assessments, reviews, and records; managing safeguarding, incidents, complaints, investigations, action plans, and CQC notifications; supporting recruitment, induction, training, supervision, appraisals, performance management, and disciplinary procedures; overseeing rotas, staff deployment, continuity of care, and safe staffing; ensuring safe medication support, moving and handling, infection prevention, record keeping, and daily care delivery; completing audits; keeping the service inspection-ready; supporting growth; liaising with service users, families, staff, commissioners, local authorities, professionals, and stakeholders; promoting dignity, independence, choice, safeguarding, confidentiality, and person-centred care; and joining shared on-call.

Service Growth

The service aims to grow safely after CQC registration, targeting around 500 weekly care hours by months 6–9 and 1,000 weekly care hours by months 9–15, subject to registration, staffing, referrals, commissioners, private demand, and service-user needs.

Essential Skills & Experience

Applicants must have experience as a Registered Manager, Deputy Manager, or Service Manager in domiciliary care; adult social care experience supporting people with Learning Disabilities and Autism; strong knowledge of CQC Regulations, Fundamental Standards, Safeguarding, MCA, DoLS, Whistleblowing, Medication Management, QA, governance, compliance, and auditing; experience with CQC registration, inspections, audits, action plans, quality improvement, and Registered Manager / Provider interviews; ability to develop and monitor policies, procedures, audits, and governance systems; strong leadership, staff management, service development, operational skills, and community care staff management experience; confidence in a start-up service; full right to work in the UK, as sponsorship is not available; and a Full UK Driving Licence.

Business Development & Tendering

Experience required in local authority tenders/framework applications, securing contracts, care packages, placements or framework agreements, and building relationships with commissioners, local authorities, healthcare professionals, and stakeholders. Must understand commissioning, brokerage, social work, hospital discharge, referral pathways, business development, occupancy growth, and expansion.

Desirable

CQC Registered Manager experience for 1–2 years; Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Adult Care, or equivalent; experience opening, registering, or growing a new domiciliary care service; experience supporting adults with Autism, Learning Disabilities, Mental Health needs, and complex care; local authority/commissioner/referral relationships; and knowledge of electronic care planning, rostering, and call monitoring systems.

Leadership, Quality & Autonomy

The Registered Manager must recruit and retain quality care staff, lead by example, hold staff accountable, complete supervisions, spot checks, observations, and appraisals. They will implement audits, governance reviews, improvement plans, monitor complaints, incidents and safeguarding alerts, lead investigations, embed learning, and improve practice. The role carries authority for staffing, recruitment, supervision, scheduling, service delivery, safeguarding escalation, incident management, policy implementation, and governance oversight.

Working Pattern, Training & Package

Permanent, 25–35 hours per week, mainly office-based/on-site, with flexibility to visit homes, meet staff, support audits, and respond to urgent matters. Support includes CQC Fit Person Interview preparation, mandatory training, and ongoing development. Shared on-call may include evenings, weekends, and emergency cover, with payment, allowance, or TOIL confirmed.

  • Salary is £45,000–£50,000 per annum.
  • Bonus/commission linked to growth, contracts, tenders, care packages, and agreed targets.
