We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Production Planner to join our established and successful manufacturing team. As a Production Planner you will be responsible for creating and maintaining production schedules, ensuring materials, resources and workflows are aligned with operational demand. The Production Planner will work closely with operations, engineering and procurement teams to support efficiency, reduce downtime and ensure on-time delivery of products. This Production Planner role is ideal for someone organised, detail-driven and confident working within a fast-paced production environment.
DUTIES
- Production Planning and Scheduling: Create and maintain production plans aligned with customer orders and inventory levels
- MRP and Order Management: Raise, schedule and re-schedule production orders in line with MRP and master production schedules
- Order Release Coordination: Ensure timely release of production orders to support operational delivery
- BOM Management: Modify production bill of materials to ensure accurate material usage and reporting
- Production Expediting: Monitor and expedite work orders to ensure timely completion
- Stakeholder Communication: Liaise with internal teams to communicate schedules and priorities clearly
- Issue Resolution: Identify and respond to production disruptions to maintain on-time delivery
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with operations and engineering teams to resolve production challenges
- Material Availability Coordination: Liaise with buyers to ensure materials are available to meet production plans
- Process Compliance: Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, quality and housekeeping standards
- Order Closure: Ensure works orders are completed accurately and efficiently on a daily basis
- Pre-Production Review: Coordinate review meetings prior to delivery of finished goods
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
- Proven experience within a production planning or manufacturing environment
- Experience with MRP systems such as Infor or SAP and multi-level production planning
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and supply chain operations
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Strong analytical skills with confidence working with figures and data
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and computer-based planning systems
- Effective problem-solving skills and ability to respond to change
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work accurately with attention to detail
- Collaborative approach with the ability to work well within a team
