Te Taiwhenua o Heretaunga (TToH) is a NgÄti Kahungunu mandated, kaupapa MÄori health and social services organisation that has supported whÄnau and community for over 40 years. Underpinning it all are our organisational values: Kotahitanga, Whakamana, Kaitiakitanga and WhÄnaungataunga, which are woven through everything we do.
Our Hiwa-i-te-Rangi service and team is an integrated team of registered Health Practitioners and Mental Health Support staff who work with whÄnau in the low to moderate mental health area. We are an easily accessible, responsive service that provides practical and meaningful support for immediate needs and barriers to wellness for whÄnau. The advantage of working within this large health and social services organisation, is the array of wraparound services onsite to add additional support to the whaiora we serve.
What you\āll do:
- Deliver brief interventions and wellbeing support for mild to moderate mental health needs
- Work holistically with whÄnau, using kaupapa MÄori values and strength-based approaches
- Collaborate with health and social services to ensure seamless support
Based at our site at Orchard Road, Hastings, this is a permanent part-time role (32 hours per week). Days and hours will be negotiated with the successful candidate.
What you\āll bring
- Registration as a Social Worker, Counseller, Psychologist, AoD practitioner or other health professional
- Experience in community mental health and early intervention
- Strong understanding of kaupapa MÄori models of care
- Ability to build trusting relationships with whÄnau
