Te Taiwhenua o Heretaunga (TToH) is seeking a Dentist to work with us in our successful and innovative health and social services organisation. TToH is a Ngāti Kahungunu mandated, Kaupapa Māori organisation providing services to our community along the East Coast of the North Island. Oranga Niho is our Cornerstone Accredited Dental service that delivers quality, evidence-based services to our 1500 enrolled patients. We operate a mixed model with a focus on high needs funded care. We work to improve the health of our community and are committed to improving equity in our most vulnerable populations and making a difference to Māori Health.

We need your help to continue to reach whānau in need and provide affordable Dentistry services in our Orchard Road clinic in Hastings. We have chair time available in one of our clinic rooms and we are looking for a Dentist keen to work with us for 32 hours a week to help us meet the needs of our contracts, our Rangatahi services, and our private patients. We would be flexible in days and hours for the right person or people who want to support the community with their skills.

What you need to have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Dentistry
  • Radiation License
  • Knowledge of health and social issues and barriers affecting Māori health and well-being
  • The willingness and competency to treat a range of people and work in a variety of clinical work settings
  • Proven experience working effectively with the community
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to promote dental health messages into the community effectively
  • Knowledge of Te Ao Māori and Te Reo or a willingness to learn
  • Full, current Drivers licence
