As a Math Analyst, you’ll get a hands-on preview of these exciting new games before they hit the market.

Working closely with the Engineering team, the Math Analyst devotes their time to finding solutions and fixing mistakes to ensure that each game works properly. This position is an entry-level opportunity for a graduate with a math background to apply their knowledge of probability, statistics, and programming into a real-world application, working in standard game analysis, strategy game analysis, and/or random number generator (RNG) analysis.

This role is office-based in Bangor, North Wales. The Math Analyst’s main focus will be on the following:

  • Testing and Math Analysis: Writing programs and performing other analyses to calculate needed mathematical features of games. Writing programs or scripts to manipulate, parse, or reorganize large data files into standard formats for testing. Conducting and interpreting statistical testing on game simulation results and on RNG data. Reading and interpreting jurisdictional requirements, consulting appropriately for interpretation.
  • Reviewing and Documenting: Reading and modifying programs and analyses developed by others to meet testing needs. Reviewing, understanding, and documenting source code written in various languages. Writing project reports by summarizing the testing conducted and the results. Carefully reviewing analysis work conducted by others for accuracy.
  • Communicating Externally and Internally: Working with external clients, communicating professionally and courteously on topics of a technical nature. Effectively communicating and collaborating with other members of the Math Department and other employees.

Experience, Education, Skills and Credentials:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a closely related discipline.
  • Experience of Groovy and Regular Expression (Regex).
  • Associate degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or 2+ years of equivalent experience may be considered; Certification, formal training, or experience may also be evaluated and considered in lieu of educational requirements.
  • Must have knowledge of Probability, Statistics, and Combinatorics.
  • Knowledge of a modern, object-oriented programming language such as C++, including appropriate use of object-oriented design is required.
  • Must have an understanding of core programming concepts and techniques.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel is required.
  • Must have the ability to communicate, both orally and written, with other members of the team and external contacts.
  • Ability to handle and organize multiple projects and deadlines is required.
  • Must demonstrate a high degree of attention to quality, details, and correctness.
  • Must be able to pass a thorough background investigation.
