Join us as a Project Manager for the Maritime division of QinetiQ at either our Farnborough or Portsmouth sites, where you will have the opportunity to work with cutting‑edge technology in partnership with some of the most brilliant minds.

The Role

As a Project Manager, you will become an integral member of a dynamic PMO function, where you are fully responsible and accountable to understand and deliver the programme vision, objectives and benefits. Day‑to‑day, this role is for the project manager to manage the project through the later stages of delivery to project closure and manage the sub‑contractors as they deliver their workshare and integrate it with the Loch Goil operating infrastructure. The project manager will be supervised and mentored by an experienced programme manager, making this role suitable for someone wishing to build and develop their project management skills and experience.

Your Responsibilities will include:

  • Delivery of a high value (c £4m) project
  • Development and maintenance of positive engagement with project customers, partners and suppliers
  • Maintenance of forecasts (both financial and resource demand signal) for delivery which reflects the up‑to‑date expectations for the work
  • Reporting progress on all accountabilities to senior programme / portfolio manager

Essential Experience of the Project Manager

  • Typically, 2‑3 years in a Project Management position
  • Ideally from the Defence, Aerospace or Marine industries

Essential Qualifications for the Project Manager

  • Degree educated
  • APM, PPQ or Prince2 qualified

This role is 37 hours per week based at either our Farnborough or Portsmouth facilities with a minimum average site attendance of three days per week.

At our Farnborough site exciting work takes place at our state‑of‑the‑art facility, with high‑energy laser technologies, our 5m pressurised wind tunnel which has a simulation capability that is unique in the UK and our large research and development projects is a real hub of creativity, research and innovation.
