The role combines hands-on technical expertise with leadership responsibilities, ensuring engineering activities are delivered safely, efficiently, and in accordance with operational requirements.Day-to-day, you will supervise a team of engineers and technicians, provide technical guidance, oversee project delivery, and support the continued reliability and availability of critical range assets.Leadership & Supervision β Lead, mentor and supervise Electronics Engineers and Electronic TechniciansEngineering & Technical Support - Provide technical expertise for electronic systems associated with maritime instrumentation, communications, telemetry, tracking, and data acquisition systemsProject Management - Plan and manage engineering projects from concept through to implementationOperational Support - Provide engineering support to range operations and trials as requiredQuality, Safety & Compliance - Ensure compliance with company policies, health and safety legislation, and engineering standardsEssential experience of the Supervising Electronics Engineer: Significant experience in electronics engineering within a defence, maritime, industrial, telecommunications, or similar technical environmentProven experience supervising engineering teams and managing technical work programmesStrong knowledge of electronic test equipment, fault-finding techniques, and system integrationExperience producing technical documentation, reports, and engineering proceduresExperience with underwater instrumentation, sonar systems, RF communications, telemetry, or data acquisition systemsEssential qualifications for the Supervising Electronics Engineer:Knowledge of networked electronic systems and industrial control systemsWe value difference and we don't have a fixed idea when it comes to background or education, provided you can show the required level of experience and willingness to learn then we would like to hear from you.This role is 37 hours per week based at the BUTEC sites, Kyle of Lochalsh and Applecross and is based full time onsite.BUTECBUTEC (British Underwater Test & Evaluation Centre) is a specialised facility focused on underwater testing and evaluation.
