Role Purpose
As a member of the UK Shared Services team, provide management and governance of the Project Lifecycle in SAP (ECC) delivering planned or requested activities which will depend on the requirements of the individual task in order to effectively deliver high quality services to our customers. And providing advice and guidance to Project Managers, Project Controllers, Assistant Management Accountants, Management Accountants and Finance Controllers, on daily Project Services and Billing queries.
- To be competent in processing the setting of projects in finance system (e.g setting up Work Breakdown Structure “WBS”, Milestones and Services Contracts) and proficient to interpret and query information and ensure align with customer Purchase Orders.
- To apply data integrity to ensure that all project setup and amendments, billing milestone creations and project closures follow process and are timely and accurate.
- To provide governance on project set up ensuring that appropriate approvals are in place and that invoicing is compliant with QinetiQ tax policies.
- To check correct VAT and tax has been applied for invoicing.
- To support a range of information provided by the Project Services Community and Finance to ensure project is set up correctly for revenue recognition.
- To support the coordination, progress and follow the process of project closures with both the Project Services Community and Finance.
- To manage generic mailboxes monitoring emails, corrective action, respond or elevate within the Service Level Agreement as appropriate.
- To guide on the creation, updating various work instructions and archive WBS and milestone request forms for audit purposes.
- To provide supervision, train and mentor more junior members of the team in all aspect of project services including maintaining the local working instructions.
- To support Internal and External audit requests.
- To liaise with the relevant business stakeholders to ensure customer billing solution requirements can be delivered including identifying manual and automated Billing.
- To act as business partner with the Project Services Community and support the wider Finance Services team with improvement in procedures and controls, as well as ad‑hoc projects.
