Job Title: Employee Communications Manager Global Grade: GG12Location: Farnborough - 3dpw on-siteRole Type: Permanent – Full TimeRole ID: 20598Salary: 55 - 60k depending on experience Role PurposeAs a member of the Marketing and Communications team, this role plays a key part in shaping and delivering impactful employee communications. The role holder is responsible for delivering the UK Defence (UKD) Sector Employee Communications strategy that helps our employees understand their contribution to the delivery of QinetiQ's strategy and feel a sense of pride in the organisation.The individual is accountable for the delivery of Group and Sector employee communications campaigns and activities across a variety of channels in support of QinetiQ's company goals, the Marketing & Communications strategy and contributes positively to QinetiQ's employee value proposition and reputation with its key stakeholders, especially employees. The individual will also use employee feedback to inform employee communications campaigns and activities.The role holder will work closely with the UKD Chief Executive and People Director to deliver the employee communications strategy for the Sector across all three markets - UK, Canada and Germany. In addition, the individual will work closely with the Employee Communications team (part of the Marketing & Communications team) to ensure a co-ordinated approach to UK and Group employee communications taking account and consideration of other Sectors (especially UKI) and Group Functions.Key AccountabilitiesDevelop and implement the Employee Communications strategy for the UKD Sector which informs, inspires and engages employees aligned to the Group-wide employee communications strategy and plansAct as a trusted adviser to key stakeholders including UK Defence Chief Executive Office and Leadership Team to provide specialist insight and knowledge on employee communications best practice and latest trendsManage Sector employee communications channels, messaging and content for key information and announcementsDraft and edit communications copy and materials to create engaging and creative content for a variety of channels (blogs, social media, website, intranet), tailored to a range of audiencesManage the day-to-day tactical delivery of employee communications campaigns and activitiesPlan, manage and deliver key events, both virtually and in-person. This includes, but is not limited to, Q-Talks, Employee Roadshows, Leadership Conferences and other people-focused forumsEnsure all content, messaging and collateral align to the QinetiQ narrative and represents the brand in the most effective way to connect our people to our purpose, vision and valuesMeasure and analyse the impact and effectiveness of all communications activities to inform future plans and engagementDeliver QinetiQ Group employee communication campaigns and activities within the Sector to create awareness and understandingPartner with the Marketing and Communications team to leverage and integrate opportunities to promote and enhance our employer value proposition and brand both internally and externallyKeep up to date with the latest trends and best practice in employeeKey Capabilities/KnowledgeAbility to effectively manage, and execute multiple projects; with high levels of accuracy and attention to detailA passion for communications and employee engagement, with a keen interest in new technologies, platforms and channelsExcellent communicator and creative thinker, with an ability to use both data and intuition to inform decisionsAble to build relationships and influence a wide range of stakeholdersWrites in a clear and concise manner, using appropriate grammar, style and language to create meaningful contentWilling to learn and develop in complex stakeholder environments with a strong desire to understand how the business works and generates revenueThrives in environments where there is a high need for collaboration and teamwork and where working at pace is a key requirementExperience & QualificationsDepth of experience in communications, particularly within employee communicationsExperience of successful delivery in multi- stakeholder environments, with good relationship management skillsExperience of editing and updating intranet/web content and analysing web analyticsExperience in delivering events both virtually and in-personStrong commercial focusExperience of working with senior leadersWhy Join QinetiQ?As we continue to grow into new markets around the world, there’s never been a more exciting time to join QinetiQ.
