Join us as an Associate Electromagnetic Scientist at our Farnborough site, where you will have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology in partnership with some of the most brilliant minds.The RoleAs an Associate Electromagnetic Scientist, you'll help develop innovative technologies that enhance our understanding of how electromagnetic energy interacts with materials, systems and platforms across the land, air and maritime domains.Day-to-day, you'll work as part of our RF Signatures Team, supporting a diverse portfolio of research and customer programmes. You'll combine computational modelling, laboratory testing and scientific analysis to solve complex technical problems and develop novel electromagnetic solutions. This is a unique opportunity to work across the full development lifecycle, from concept development and simulation through to testing, measurement and analysis.Your responsibilities will include:Delivering electromagnetic modelling, simulation and analysis activities across a range of projectsConducting laboratory-based RF measurements, material characterisation and experimental testingAnalysing and interpreting technical data using scientific software and toolsProducing high-quality technical reports and presenting findings to customers and stakeholdersSupporting the development of advanced materials and technologies for electromagnetic signature managementContributing to trials, testing programmes and collaborative research activitiesEssential experience of the Electromagnetic Scientist: A strong understanding of electromagnetic theory, including fields, waves, propagation and scatteringExperience using electromagnetic modelling or simulation tools such as CST, COMSOL or similar softwareExperience applying analytical, modelling or simulation techniques to solve technical problemsExperience collecting, processing and analysing scientific or engineering dataAbility to communicate complex technical concepts through reports and presentationsExperience working within a scientific, engineering or research environmentEssential qualifications for the Electromagnetic Scientist:Degree in Physics, Applied Physics, Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electromagnetics or a closely related disciplineEligibility to obtain UK Security Clearance (SC)British CitizenshipPhD not essential but certainly desirableWe value difference and we don’t have a fixed idea when it comes to background or education, provided you can show the required level of experience and willingness to learn then we would like to hear from you.This role is 37 hours per week based at our Farnborough site with a minimum average site attendance of three days per week. At our Farnborough site exciting work takes place at our state-of-the-art facility, with high-energy laser technologies, our 5m pressurised wind tunnel which has a simulation capability that is unique in the UK and our large research and development projects is a real hub of creativity, research and innovation.
