The Role
As a Senior Cloud Engineer you will be providing technical leadership within Cloud Engineering projects and programmes working at the forefront of enabling secure, scalable and mission-critical cloud capabilities. Day-to-day, you will work closely with project managers and support the development of winning proposals and the delivery of cloud solutions.
Your responsibilities:
- Leading project teams to deliver solutions managing and guiding junior staff to deliver solutions for new and existing customers
- Providing technical leadership for the delivery of programme, project and bidding activities
- Supporting the development of cloud staff in their technical disciplines and supporting resourcing decisions
- Developing design certifications, technical delivery plans, high level documentation, detailed design documentation and testing schedules
- Understanding marketing requirements and future technology developments applying them to technical solutions
- Performing complex engineering/technical assignments developing creative and practical solutions to customer problems
Essential experience of the Senior Cloud Engineer:
- Previous experience as a Cloud Engineer with a strong knowledge of AWS cloud services
- The ability to develop and manage infrastructure as code (Terraform)
- Proven experience leading, mentoring or managing technical delivery teams
- The ability to engage with senior stakeholders and communicate with non-technical audiences
- Previous experience working within Agile Delivery environments
- Proven experience delivering cloud projects end-to-end
Essential qualifications

The Malvern facility is noted for its work in electronic warfare, surveillance and complex system integration, contributing significantly to the UK’s defence capabilities. Developing technologies for military and civilian applications, including sensors, communications and cyber security.
