The Role
As a Radars Controls Lead, you will take full responsibility for leading the business project controls team and delivering the Group Portfolio Office strategy, ensuring best practice, high performance and continuous improvement across the project controls community.
Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with senior leadership to drive project control standards, oversee resource planning across a portfolio of projects, support strategic initiatives, and lead a high-performing team of project controls, risk and estimating specialists.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Driving and implementing project controls best practice across the sector
- Overseeing the project and programme portfolio to optimise resource allocation and capability
- Leading the production of dashboards and reports for senior stakeholders, ensuring high data quality
- Providing expert input into business planning and project controls strategy
- Acting as a key stakeholder for globalisation of project tools and continuous improvement
- Leading and developing a high-performing project controls team
Essential experience of the Radars Controls Lead:
- In-depth expertise across project controls disciplines including schedule, cost, risk and change
- Extensive experience leading large project control teams within complex project environments
- Strong understanding of full project lifecycles, including hands-on experience with EVM
- Demonstrable experience influencing senior stakeholders and driving strategic improvement
- Ability to develop and implement new standards, processes or plans in a complex organisation
- Advanced experience using project management tools including Microsoft Project and SAP
Essential qualifications for the Radars Controls Lead:
- ECITB L6 Diploma in Project Controls practice and techniques or equivalent
- Recognised expert-level capability gained through advanced education and significant experience
- Demonstrated ability to coach, mentor and manage project controls professionals
This role is 37 hours per week based at Malvern. Hybrid working patterns are available.
The Malvern facility is noted for its work in electronic warfare, surveillance and complex system integration, contributing significantly to the UK’s defence capabilities. Developing technologies for military and civilian applications, including sensors, communications and cyber security.
