THE ROLE

As a Commercial Lawyer, you will join Inzpire’s Commercial Function and report to the Head of Legal.

This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with stakeholders across the business, advising on a broad range of commercial, contractual and compliance matters.

You will provide clear, pragmatic legal advice that supports strategic objectives, enables growth and protects Inzpire’s interests.

You will play a key role in drafting, reviewing and negotiating a wide range of commercial agreements, supporting business-winning activity and helping to ensure compliance with relevant legal and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities include

• Identify, assess and mitigate legal and commercial risks.
• Provide practical and commercially focused legal advice and pragmatic solutions to contractual, compliance and operational matters.
• Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a range of commercial agreements and legal documents with customers, suppliers and other stakeholders.
• Supporting business-winning activity, bids and contract management in partnership with Commercial, Trade Compliance, Supply Chain and GRC teams.
• Maintaining legal templates, processes and systems to support efficient delivery of legal services.
• Delivering legal training and raising awareness of legal and compliance requirements across the business.
• Monitor relevant legal and regulatory developments and advising on their potential impact on Inzpire.

This is a broad and varied in-house role within a small Legal team.

We are looking for someone who enjoys working collaboratively with stakeholders across the business to deliver commercially focussed solutions rather than operating solely as a legal advisor.

The successful candidate will combine technical legal expertise with commercial acumen, business awareness and a pragmatic approach to problem-solving.

The role is based in Lincoln, with hybrid working available. Regular travel to the Lincoln office and occasional travel to other UK sites may be required.

THE PERSON

We are looking for a commercially minded and pragmatic solicitor qualified in England and Wales, we envisage the right person to have between 2 and 5 years’ PQE.

You will have sound commercial judgement, strong communication skills and the confidence to advise stakeholders at different levels of the business.

You will also bring a collaborative and proactive approach, building effective relationships across teams and contributing positively to wider business objectives.

Essential experience and skills

• Qualified solicitor in England and Wales with a minimum of 2 years’ PQE
• Experience drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts (including customer and supplier agreements).
• Experience supporting cross-functional business initiatives and projects.
• Good commercial awareness and ability to balance legal risk with business objectives
• Ability to identify legal risks and provide pragmatic, solutions-focused advice.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organisation, prioritisation and time management skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels.

Desirable experience

• In-house legal experience.
• Between 2 and 5 years PQE
• Experience with software licence agreements and/or Saa S agreements.
• Experience advising on legal and regulatory considerations associated with product development including bringing new products or services to market.
• Experience in the defence industry or with public sector or government contracts.
• Knowledge of data protection and wider regulatory compliance requirements.

Due to the nature of elements of the role, the successful applicant must be a UK National and may be required to successfully complete National Security Vetting which may require criminal record, security service and credit reference checks; qualification will also normally require a minimum UK residency of at least 5 years.
