You will join one of our Research and Technology teams in our UK Intelligence Sector which cover defence areas such as Radar, Electronic Warfare, Signal Processing, Robust Navigation, Quantum Technologies, Synthetic Environments, Autonomy and Operational Analysis / Research. We have exciting roles to offer across this wide range of technology areas according to your strengths and interests, with a chance to explore more than one of these before specialising. Depending on the chosen areas, these will allow you to experience the design and running of demonstrator systems; algorithm development, including novel signal processing and machine learning / deep learning techniques; fundamental scientific research; and the analysis of complex systems.
These activities enable our customers to exploit new technologies and improve system performance, and we also provide specialist advice to assist in the procurement and testing of new capabilities. They enable you to build skills and experience in your chosen field.
Key AccountabilitiesThe primary scope of the role is focused on supporting delivery to our customers. We have a variety of live customer projects giving a choice of tasks, all requiring technical solutions that meet business and customer requirements.
- Apply your scientific/engineering/technical expertise and knowledge on a variety of assignments requiring the integration of a range of skills and knowledge.
- Undertake scientific research with a chance to attend UK & international conferences and present papers.
- Develop solutions using your coding skills in Matlab / Python / C++.
- Work directly with customers to understand their needs and requirements and develop our work for them.
- Follow an internal development scheme that will support progression to chartered status with an appropriate professional body.
- Strong Physics and Maths
- Interest in solving difficult problems
- Passion for scientific & engineering research
- Desire to develop deep technical expertise, coupled with an ability to understand the broader context
- Interest in automation, numerical modelling, data analysis and / or programming fundamentals
A degree in an appropriate STEM Subject.
