Role Overview
The role is with the Maritime Engineering Group, which delivers testing and design consultancy services into the UK and International Defence industries. The primary focus of the job will be to support technical projects relating to ship and submarine hydrodynamic subject areas such as stability, seakeeping, manoeuvring and propulsion. The job will include working in QinetiQ’s large hydrodynamic facilities and using industry standard or bespoke software tools.

- Some experience of data analysis.
- Experience of programming (Matlab, Python etc.) would be nice but not necessary.

Key Accountabilities
- Working collaboratively with colleagues to help deliver and provide innovative solutions to customers’ problems.
- Ensure the work is conducted in a safe manner, highlighting hazards and potentially unsafe practices to Team Lead.
- Actively participate and encourage increased collaboration across the team.
Apprenticeship Level 6 Manufacturing Engineer - BEng (Hons)
Training Provider – Portsmouth University
Delivery type: 1 day per week at the training provider, 4 days per week in the workplace
Academic Entry Requirements
This course requires 112 UCAS points to include:
- Maths & English GCSE at grade 4 or above;
- 3 A Levels or equivalent at BBC grade or above, ideally one of which to be Maths based.
- Alternatively, a BTEC diploma or T Levels in Engineering or Science at Merit grade or above.
