Overview
As a Quality Engineer at QinetiQ in Malvern, you ensure safety, compliance, and performance across the organisation and its suppliers. You will drive audits, risk assessments, and continuous improvements to meet regulatory and contractual requirements. You’ll partner with project teams to secure fit-for-purpose, on-time delivery and elevate supplier performance. This role combines hands-on auditing with strategic quality leadership in a defence-focused environment.

Responsibilities
- Plan, scope and deliver process, product, and supplier audits to ensure compliance with regulations, ISO standards, and procedures
- Identify and manage quality, safety, and compliance risks; drive corrective actions and communicate issues to stakeholders
- Provide supply chain assurance through supplier audits, risk assessments, and improvement recommendations
- Support supplier and project management activities including quality plans and regulatory compliance documentation
- Lead and coordinate internal and external audits, including preparation, responses, reporting and management reviews
- Promote a culture of quality and continuous improvement; share best practices and produce quality artefacts; act as a quality advisor across the business
Key requirements
- Strong knowledge of Project and Engineering Management processes and how quality requirements apply through the lifecycle
- Understanding of legislation, regulations, ISO standards, contractual requirements, and customer-specific QMS
- Proven QA and Supply Chain Assurance experience with audits in complex environments
- Experienced lead auditor with ability to ensure regulatory and contractual flow-down through the supply chain
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills to influence at all levels
- Root cause analysis and structured problem-solving for continuous improvement
