Role Purpose

To support the ongoing materials engineering business lines delivering direct customer projects, with special emphasis on corrosion and/or paints and coatings technologies. To enable succession planning for corrosion and paints/coatings capabilities.

Key Accountabilities

  • Undertaking materials/corrosion/paints and coatings testing and experimentation under guidance of more senior engineers and scientists.
  • To collate results and produce written inputs on work undertaken for project leaders to incorporate in customer reports.
  • To contribute to safe and efficient laboratory management.
  • To develop own understanding and skills in field of materials, corrosion and paints and coatings to grow and progress in role.

Key Capabilities/Knowledge

  • Knowledge of materials science or chemistry with particular interest (i.e. degree module or final year project or actual work experience) in fields of metallic corrosion or paint/coating technology.
  • Capable of expanding knowledge of corrosion and paints technology at pace under mentorship of subject matter experts.

Experience & Qualifications

Degree (BSc or BEng Hons. minimum) in Materials Science, Chemistry, Corrosion or Coatings Technology.
