The Role: As an Associate Research Engineer (RF Signatures), you will contribute to the development of solutions that reduce and manage platform detectability across land and maritime domains. Day-to-day, you’ll support the design, analysis, testing, and delivery of RF signature solutions, working within a multidisciplinary team to solve complex engineering challenges and produce high-quality technical outputs.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Contribute to RF signature design, analysis, testing, and reporting
  • Support the development of engineering solutions using materials and structural design approaches
  • Produce technical artefacts including CAD models, reports, and engineering documentation
  • Support trials, testing, and validation activities including data analysis and interpretation
  • Work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams and engage with internal stakeholders
  • Identify technical risks and contribute to mitigation activities

Essential experience:

  • Strong engineering analysis and structured problem-solving skills
  • Experience contributing to engineering design, development, or technical problem solving
  • Competence in CAD tools such as SolidWorks
  • Ability to produce clear and accurate engineering documentation and reports
  • Understanding of core engineering fundamentals including materials and design principles
  • Hands-on, proactive approach with experience working in multidisciplinary teams

Essential qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline (e.g. Mechanical, Aerospace, Materials)

This role is 37 hours per week based at our Farnborough site with a minimum average site attendance of three days per week.

At our Farnborough site exciting work takes place at our state-of-the-art facility, with high-energy laser technologies, our 5m pressurised wind tunnel which has a simulation capability that is unique in the UK and our large research and development projects is a real hub of creativity, research and innovation.

Please note that all applicants for this role must be eligible for SC clearance, as a minimum.
