The Role
As a Senior Authorised Person, you will provide support and subject-matter expertise to deliver planned or requested activities in order to effectively deliver high quality operations service. You will be responsible for driving improvement and supporting a network of Site AP’s, Facility Managers and Integrated Delivery Teams with technical advice and guidance on High Hazard Areas. Day-to-day, you will lead and embed operational Safe System of Work improvement programmes, identify best practice across Operations and work with teams to ensure consistency in management and delivery approach.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering high quality operations by interpreting knowledge of policy framework
- Engaging with stakeholders to ensure customer and business needs are satisfied and issues are mitigated
- Resolving a wide range of complex queries and supporting others with the resolution of more complex issues, escalating where appropriate
- Driving technical standards, assisting with site audits and technical support and maintaining the appropriate levels of competence
- Championing best practice and encouraging others to demonstrate appropriate leadership behaviours to promote a positive culture
Essential experience of the Senior Authorised Person:
- Sound understanding of JSP375 and appointed / responsible person processes
- Proven track record in Health & Safety and compliance
- A good working knowledge of applicable regulations and legislation
Essential qualifications for the Senior Authorised Person:
- Current SAP Certificate in either HV/LV Electrical

This role is 37 hours per week based at our Boscombe Down site. Hybrid working patterns are available. Travel to other QinetiQ and customer sites will be expected.
Boscombe Down MOD is a unique operational site featuring the longest military runway in the UK. Primarily focusing on providing testing, evaluation and support services for aviation and aerospace systems. Renowned for its extensive flight testing capabilities the site plays a vital role in the UK’s aviation defence contributing to the development, testing and airworthiness of military aircraft enhancing operational readiness and effectiveness.
