Join us as a Associate Systems Engineer at our Farnborough site, where you will have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology in partnership with some of the most brilliant minds.The RoleAs an Associate Systems Engineer, you’ll provide systems engineering and technical support to projects and work packages developing bespoke systems that underpin UK Defence Test, Trials, Training and Evaluation (T3E) activity.Day-to-day, you’ll be part of a team who work on a diverse set of programmes and projects ranging from area/asset surveillance, video and voice communications, datalinks, secure data, trials control, safety systems and engineering. You will lead your own tasks, working under guidance of Senior Engineers and Project Managers where you’ll greatly benefit from ongoing support and mentoring.With our support you will build expertise and knowledge in our bespoke test systems and technologies. You will be guided by the broader systems engineering team and you will actively participate in the professional community where our project work will direct your journey towards systems engineering professional registration and chartership.Your responsibilities will include:Activities across the technical system V-cycle from system requirements, solution developments, installation plans, test and verification activities, system certifications and acceptancesDelivering own tasks and activity to time, cost and quality, working closely with Project Managers and seeking support of Senior EngineersWorking individually and as part of a team, you’ll integrate across communities acting as a technical point of contact for projectsDeveloping your knowledge of specific systems, solutions and technologiesDelivering systems engineering artefacts through project lifecycle, with support of senior colleagues as appropriateEssential experience of the Associate Systems Engineer: You will have an aptitude for professional systems engineering skills across INCOSE Technical CompetenciesTrack record of delivering a project from beginning to end, with an eye on the engineering processHold an appreciation of systems engineering activities in engineering project deliveryUsing structured engineering processes (e.g. requirements gathering, integration and test planning)Delivering technical project reports in timely and coherent mannerExperience of facilitating meetings or workshops and reporting technical outcomesEssential qualifications for the Associate Systems Engineer:Degree / Masters, or equivalent experience in a relevant technical disciplineDriving LicenceWe value difference and we don’t have a fixed idea when it comes to background or education, provided you can show the required level of experience and willingness to learn then we would like to hear from you.This role is 37 hours per week based at our Farnborough site with a minimum average site attendance of three days per week.
