The Role
As an Associate Consultant, you will join our project teams, supporting the delivery of consulting projects, whilst developing your understanding of consulting methodologies, tools, and the National Security and Defence sector. Day-to-day, you’ll take responsibility for defined tasks and deliverables, gradually building your expertise and confidence in consulting delivery. This role provides an excellent foundation for understanding consulting fundamentals and developing the core skills needed for career progression within QinetiQ's consulting practice.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Working with the National Security Consulting team to support the delivery of projects, utilising recognised business analysis techniques to execute tasks.
- Developing understanding of consulting methodologies and tools and thus contributing to capability development within the National Security Advisory Services IDT and building knowledge of the National Security and Defence sector.
- Supporting documentation and reporting activities.
- Planning and supporting engagements with stakeholders of all levels, capturing requirements and helping problem-solve blockers.
- Proactively communicating and collaborating with internal and external customers to understand their needs, consolidating findings with a clear output-centric approach.
- Playing an active role in the team and wider business, contributing to a diverse and inclusive culture which values professionalism.
Essential experience of the Associate Consultant:
- Experience across the following areas: Business Analysis, Business Change, Technical Consultancy and Project/Program Management.
- Ability to apply methods and tools for problem-solving and analysis with a familiarity of Agile methodology.
- Demonstrable ability to interface with external stakeholders/customers and internal teams.
- Some familiarity of National Security and Defence sectors and an awareness of sector structure and operational challenges.
- Excellent communication skills.
Essential qualifications for the Associate Consultant:

This role is 37 hours per week based at our site in London. Hybrid working patterns are available.
