The Role
As an Assistant Commercial Manager, you will provide commercial support within multi-disciplined Integrated Capture Teams and Integrated Delivery Teams as required in accordance with the established commercial strategy.
Day-to-day, you’ll contribute to the effective and efficient contractual management of contracts within the portfolio including all aspects of legal (T’s and C’s), pricing, and IP as appropriate.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Identify show stoppers and potential business challenges in customer terms and conditions, behaviours, and performance
- Manage a portfolio of multiple bids and or contracts at the same time
- Draft (creation or amendments) of business-to-business agreements – Contracts/ICTA and Non-disclosure Agreements, and able to advise when each may be applicable
- Use data to analyse trends and influence decision making on contract strategy
- Support negotiation strategy and planning, capable of influencing up to programme level
- Deliver revenue generating, simple to medium complexity negotiations for mutual benefit and support pricing strategy (pay, performance and incentivisation) in contracts
Essential experience
- Practical experience in a commercial role and delivering improved operational efficiency
- Demonstrate general commercial acumen on tenders and contracts which are typically standard, of low to medium complexity and providing support to less experienced team members
- Demonstrate working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and ERP systems (SAP, Oracle) and Customer Relationship Management (C4C)
- An understanding and proactive application of commercial procedures and concepts
- Strong communication and negotiation skills to interact with internal teams and external stakeholders
- Exceptional attention to detail and proactive approach to problem solving with a focus on continuous improvement
Essential qualifications
- University degree in relevant field or comparable work experience
- Accredited to or moving towards MCIPS qualified (Member of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply)

This role is 37 hours per week based at Farnborough. Hybrid working patterns are available.
