The Role: As a Senior Quality Inspector, you will inspect and certify both Electrical, Mechanical details and assemblies. Working with the AEC (Aviation Engineering Centre) team you’ll deliver quality product to all our customers and maintain our quality approvals.
Day-to-day, you’ll be responsible to the Production Manager taking accountability for the sustainment of quality of product output of all production activities. Also ensuring compliance of the Production Organisation to all its regulatory requirements. Your responsibilities will include:
- Inspection of detailed parts and assemblies in accordance with applicable design data and work instructions
- Completion of manufacturing records and test results
- Carry out final sign off of components and Assemblies through either Part 21 Form 1 or AS9100 COFC
- Assist in the management of audits and closure of any resulting actions
- Support the Production Manager to maintain continuous improvement plans
- Raise Engineering queries where product deviates from the applicable design data
Essential experience of the Senior Quality Inspector:
- Knowledge from working within a Part 21G regulated aviation industry
- Evidence of working within a regulated quality environment
- Experience carrying out testing requirements, hardness / conductivity, tensile and heat treatments
- Capable of measuring components using standard measuring equipment
- Knowledge of using digital and calibrated measuring equipment
- Previous Quality Management experience
Essential qualifications for the Senior Quality Inspector:
- HNC Level in Engineering, or evidence of working within an aviation manufacturing and production planning environment
- CAA / EASA Part 21G Production Organisation approval course
This role is 37 hours per week based at our Boscombe Down site with a minimum average site attendance of five days per week. Flexible working available.
Boscombe Down MOD Boscombe Down is a unique operational site featuring the longest military runway in the UK. Primarily focusing on providing testing, evaluation and support services for aviation and aerospace systems. Renowned for its extensive flight-testing capabilities the site plays a vital role in the UK’s aviation defence contributing to the development, testing and airworthiness of military aircraft enhancing operational readiness and effectiveness.
Please note that all applicants for this role must be eligible for SC clearance, as a minimum.
