THE ROLE
Business Assurance & Improvement Lead – Provide hands-on assurance support to the Company's management, business areas, project teams and individual functions, championing a culture of continuous improvement. This role ensures adherence to Company Policies and Procedures, relevant ISO 9001:2015 and other statutory and regulatory requirements. Work closely with the Head of Governance, Risk and Compliance to maintain and improve the Inzpire Business Management System. Produce an annual audit plan, conduct and support internal and external audits to assess compliance with ISO 9001:2015 and alignment with company policy. Analyse and report on quality objectives, identifying areas for improvement. Support the development of corrective and preventive actions, conducting root-cause analysis and monitoring effectiveness of solutions. Establish and maintain stakeholder relations, communicate and engage at all levels, and facilitate training on quality standards and improvement methodologies.
THE PERSON
In-depth knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 (formal CQI/IRCA or Defence QA qualifications desirable). Internal auditor qualification as a minimum. Proven experience in maintaining and managing Quality Management Systems. Strong IT skills with working knowledge of Excel, SharePoint and Power BI. Experience in defence and aerospace domains and the ability to apply industry-specific knowledge to Q&A processes. Understanding of software development and hardware integration practices. Project management experience. Commitment to staying informed about industry-specific quality requirements and standards. Awareness of cyber security principles and UK government requirements. Excellent analytical, reporting and detail-oriented skills. Effective communication and collaboration abilities. Adaptability to changing priorities and resilience in challenging circumstances.
Due to the nature of the role, the successful applicant must be a UK National and may be required to complete National Security Vetting, including criminal record, security service and credit reference checks; a minimum UK residency of at least 5 years is normally required.
