The Role
As a Management Accountant, you will provide support to the Deputy Financial Controller (DFC) working with the Engineering Delivery Partner customer, partners & stakeholders. Day‑to‑day, the focus of this role is being responsible for the financial & reporting aspects of the EDP contract. As a member of the Air finance team, this role shall also deliver key finance & accounting support to the Air business.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Single Source Regulations Office (SSRO) Reporting including Defence Contract Analysis & Reporting System (DefCARS) completion & statutory reporting
- Monitoring & validating contract values, billing/milestone management & cost codes
- Supporting the production of invoicing & cost validation
- Providing reports to the DE&S Delivery Teams
- Top level understanding of the P&L and Balance Sheet, able to provide detailed commentary & answer questions from FC & DFC and other interested stakeholders
- Capital expenditure monitoring where applicable
Essential experience of the Management Accountant
- Knowledge of SAP & Microsoft Office, in particular Excel is an advantage
- Project/Cost Centre accounting experience is essential
- Proven experience of being able to prioritise tasks & meet tight deadlines, working alongside other members of the team in an efficient & structured way
Essential qualifications for the Management Accountant
- Qualified/part qualified accountant – studying towards CIMA, ACA, ACCA, or AAT
- Demonstrable experience in a similar role if not qualified.
This role is 37 hours per week based at our Farnborough site and this is a hybrid‑based role with an average expectation of 3 days per week onsite.
