The Role
As a Financial Controller for Group Functions you will be an integral member of the Finance and Governance function, acting as the Finance Business Partner of choice, delivering safely, responsibly and sustainably for the benefit of stakeholders and supporting strategic growth.
Responsibilities
- Line‑manage 3 financial modellers and indirectly manage 5 accountants supporting reporting across all Group functions.
- Lead all financial reporting and planning (operating costs, recoveries and investments) for Growth, Performance, Finance & Corporate Affairs functions in the UK, ensuring compliance with Group strategy, policy and procedures.
Essential Experience
- Commercially astute: ability to assess, challenge and contribute to investment decisions and other key financial judgements on behalf of the Group.
- Strategic thinker: ability to think long‑term beyond immediate area, requiring sector awareness, critical analysis and integration of information to develop action‑oriented plans.
- Exceptional business partnering background.
Essential Qualifications
- ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified.
- Experience of working in complex matrix organisations and across multiple jurisdictions/time‑zones.
This role is 37 hours per week based at Farnborough head office with a minimum average site attendance of three days per week.
Location
Farnborough site – central to QinetiQ’s defence research and innovation activities.
