Job Type: Full-time, permanent

Location: Salford Quays, Manchester

Job ID: SF19514

About Us: We’ve been around for about ten years and grown from being a little-known tech start-up to creating our own community at the heart of the thriving and diverse tech and digital ecosystem of Greater Manchester. Our name Naimuri is Japanese and simply means…‘nai’ meaning ‘not’‘muri’ meaning ‘overburden’. These principles apply to every aspect of an organisation from technology, process and infrastructure, through to people, culture and leadership. This means that we empower our teams to do what they think is the right thing, giving them the skills and confidence to explore new ways of working, and to create a bias-free environment, where all our people feel comfortable collaborating to deliver the finest ideas and solutions in an agile environment. Our business is focused on 4 cornerstones, which shape and underpin the way in which we go about work and treat each other: Wellbeing, Empowerment, Perpetual Edge, and Delivery. People and culture are at the heart of Naimuri, so that collectively, we can realise our mission of ‘making the UK a safer place to be’.

We work in an Agile-first environment that values transparency, collaboration, and continuous improvement. As the Delivery Lead, your core focus will be to foster a culture of high-quality delivery and active collaboration.

At Naimuri, we work on a variety of projects that range in length from a few weeks to 5+ years. Here are some things we’ve worked on to give a sense of some of the types of deliveries you may lead for us:

  • Lead part of a large SAFE Agile Release Train, composed of several multidisciplinary SCRUM teams in a long term delivery into an important government customer.
  • Taking a small software innovation team and driving a Proof of Concept demonstrator through the software development life cycle into full Production.
  • Engaging with senior customer stakeholders within a call off contract to drive positive change, and produce better Statements of Work and outcomes for both Naimuri and the customer.
  • Coach and lead positive change in customer adoption of Agile Ways of Working.
  • Work with large government research organisations to shape and deliver cutting edge research in the assurance of AI and its adoption in Defence and wider government.
  • Directing a team and owning the creation of multi-million pound proposals and contract renewals, from inception to signing on the dotted line.

About the Role: As a Delivery Lead at Naimuri, you'll have the autonomy to make impactful decisions, the space to solve difficult challenges, and the support of a strong Delivery community. This role is about more than just project management: If the following describes the way you work, then I’d really like to speak to you:

  • You have strong experience of Agile delivery management, involving high level planning, forecasting, resource allocation, workflow management, and managing priorities to timescales and/or milestones.
  • You have strong stakeholder and customer management skills in order to facilitate regular updates, provide operational & status reporting, and expectation management.
  • You are comfortable with owning responsibility for your team's Agile Ways of Working & team processes, and have experience of running multidisciplinary teams.
  • You have an experience and understanding of commercial processes and paperwork, such as business cases, purchase orders, development & submission of proposals and managing budgets.
  • You are able to establish quick and reliable rapport with partner organisations to manage team members’ performance.
  • You live and breathe RAID management and incorporate the identification, management, mitigation, reporting and escalation as part of normal day to day delivery management.
  • You are comfortable reporting delivery progress against features, identifying and managing issues, blockers, dependencies and risks to delivery.
  • Sense and adopt the appropriate management style required by the situation.
  • You maintain team morale, handle conflict within the team and counsel team members as needed.
  • You are a role model. You lead and set performance and behavioural standards for everyone.

Learning and Progression at Naimuri: Continuous Personal Development, or Personal Kaizen, is a core part of Naimuri's culture, ensuring everyone has the opportunity to develop in a transparent and supportive environment. You will be assigned a Mentor, usually outside of your team, who can help guide and support you on your development journey. Naimuri actively encourages training, through internal knowledge sharing and external courses. You are empowered to identify and pursue opportunities for further training. We have a Naimuri progression framework, which recognises that continuous personal development drives greater proficiency and depth in skills, roles, knowledge, or leadership. It provides a clear direction for growth and reinforces achievements that support your Personal Kaizen.

Location & Flexibility: Base: This will be based at our Head Office in Salford Quays, Manchester. Hybrid Working: We offer hybrid working. This consists of a minimum of 3 days working in the office or customer site, but you are welcome to spend more time on-site if preferred. We assess seniority relative to the team at Naimuri during the interviewing process. A full time working week is 37.5 hours and you have flexibility over when you give that time. We also offer part-time working which can be discussed during the recruitment process. There is an expectation that the successful candidate will work directly from one of our office locations, or customer sites, for at least 3 days a week. Our core hours are 10:00am - 3:00pm and our office is open between 7:30 - 18:00, Monday to Friday. Depending on the project, you may also be required to travel to a local customer site or occasionally to other locations in the UK.
