Role Purpose: The Mission Systems teams at QinetiQ Lincoln provides advice, modelling and tools to support operational effectiveness of mission systems. These models, tools and advice are aimed at improving the effectiveness, resilience and survivability of latest generation air, naval and land-based defence and security systems.

Key Accountabilities:

  • The primary scope of a Mission System Specialist role is focused modelling, development and analysis of sensors, mission system interfaces, weapon systems, communications and the data that supports their performance.
  • You will undertake a variety of tasks, ensuring technical solutions meet business and customer requirements.
  • Electronic Warfare defensive and offensive systems.
  • Improving the time taken for sensor detection to result in effector action.

Key Capabilities/Knowledge:

  • Have strong skills in Maths and/or Physics.
  • Have an understanding of the electromagnetic spectrum, particularly RF.
  • Programming/coding skills would be advantageous, particularly in Matlab, Python and/or C++.
  • Have an understanding of digital modelling techniques.

Experience & Qualifications:

You will need to be working towards a degree with a key focus on any of the disciplines listed below:

  • Physics
  • Mathematics
  • Computer Science
  • Data Science
