Our central business functions are located in an easily accessible, bright and modern head office to the west of Lincoln, alongside our mission systems team, while the majority of our operational specialists are embedded alongside our Defence customers.
We are looking for a Compliance & Risk Lead to support a wide range of compliance and risk matters across the business. Working closely with the Head of GRC, the role is key in providing knowledgeable yet practical advice, oversight and operational guidance to ensure regulatory obligations are met, risks are managed and wider governance processes operate smoothly across the business.
- Ensure that the business meets any and all statutory, regulatory and certification obligations through the delivery of operationally independent oversight, advice and assistance.
- Support Company compliance requirements (including but not limited to the areas of data protection, anti-bribery & corruption, whistleblowing, modern slavery, gifts & hospitality requirements).
- Assist with the sound operation of the Company’s risk management and business continuity frameworks.
- Respond to general queries in a timely manner on the Company’s various insurance covers and support the management of the insurance portfolio to ensure that it remains relevant to business needs.
- Conduct regular research into relevant areas as required to ensure that the Company’s internal compliance policies and procedures are kept up to date and valid.
Significant and proven experience working in a similar / comparable role within a regulated or structured environment. Excellent understanding of risk management principles and regulatory compliance requirements. A high standard of analytical and reporting skills with excellent attention to detail. Strong IT skills and a good working knowledge of software such as Excel, SharePoint and Power BI would be advantageous. Confident communicator who can build effective relationships and provide clear, practical advice. IRM (or similar) qualifications desirable. Committed to staying informed about industry-specific / professional requirements and standards. Adaptable, able to cope with changing requirements and multiple priorities and can remain effective in difficult times.
Due to the nature of elements of the role, the successful applicant must be a UK National and may be required to successfully complete National Security Vetting which may require criminal record, security service and credit reference checks; qualification will also normally require a minimum UK residency of at least 5 years.
