The Role
As a Warehouse Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting critical defence trials, testing programmes, and disposal activities by ensuring the safe handling, storage, control and movement of specialist materials and equipment across the site. Day‑to‑day, you'll be responsible for warehouse operations, stock management, receipting, storage and issuing activities, whilst maintaining the highest standards of safety, compliance and operational excellence within a regulated environment.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Receiving, storing and issuing specialist materials in accordance with safety regulations and operational procedures
- Maintaining accurate stock control records and inventory management systems
- Supporting warehouse operations, inspections and audits to ensure compliance with established standards
- Assisting with the planning and coordination of material movements to support operational activities and trials programmes
- Contributing to risk assessments, safety procedures and continuous improvement initiatives
- Working collaboratively with internal teams and external stakeholders to deliver safe and effective operational outcomes
Essential experience of the Warehouse Technician:
- Experience in warehouse, logistics, stores or inventory management environments
- Understanding of stock control processes and accurate record keeping
- Knowledge of safe storage, handling and movement of controlled or regulated materials
- Ability to follow procedures and work within a highly regulated environment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and compliance
- Valid manual driving licence
Essential qualifications for the Warehouse Technician:
- Level 2, Level 3 or Level 4 qualification (or equivalent) in a relevant technical, logistics, engineering or defence discipline, or equivalent practical experience
This role is 37 hours per week based at our Shoeburyness site. Travel to other QinetiQ and customer sites may be required.
