Join QinetiQ’s Portsmouth Technology Park (PTP) site as a Senior Scientist. In this role you will lead advanced radar and signal‑processing activities, providing technical authority and direction across complex projects that support our customers and operational capability.
Hours: 37 per week. Hybrid working patterns are available. Travel to other QinetiQ and customer sites is expected. SC clearance is required.
Responsibilities- Lead the development and optimisation of models, simulations and analytical tools.
- Provide technical leadership across radar and signal‑processing projects.
- Design and assess advanced signal‑processing chains and algorithms.
- Interpret complex datasets and present clear recommendations to customers.
- Support bid activities and technical governance.
- Mentor and develop junior scientists and engineers.
- Significant experience in radar, signal processing, algorithm development or modelling and simulation.
- Proven ability to lead complex technical work packages or projects.
- Strong background in applied mathematics and physics.
- Programming experience in MATLAB or other languages such as Python or C++.
- Experience working with customers and stakeholders, influencing technical decisions.
- Demonstrable mentoring or technical leadership experience.
- Degree in Science or Engineering (Physics, Mathematics or similar).
- Substantial relevant industry or research experience.
