The Role

As the Senior Project Manager you will lead on and deliver specialist construction and Estates management projects across the LTPA and QinetiQ Freehold Estate. Based in Rosyth, the successful candidate will hold responsibility for the full project management lifecycle from planning through to execution on a variety of projects. These will vary from general building maintenance and refurbishment through to more technical requirements/repairs and even new build construction. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a broad breadth of experience across building & civil engineering projects, electrical and mechanical installations, delivering to time constraints and budget. You will be comfortable working with primary contractors, able to oversee technical repairs and building surveys as required.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Organise the Project, the project team and its delivery
  • Integrating the project team within the business and ensuring that a Health and Safety culture is embedded within the team
  • Develop junior Project Management competence
  • Define and maintain under review the overall aims and objectives of the Project, together with their relative priorities, and the overall scope of the Project
  • Defining and agreeing an appropriate budget, delivering the Project within this budget and managing and reporting progress against an agreed cost plan
  • Management of project documentation to include Bids, proposals and third-party documentation

Essential experience of the Senior Project Manager:

  • Working knowledge of Planning Application and GPDO processes
  • Detailed knowledge of Building Regulations and Building Control
  • Detailed knowledge of the RIBA process
  • Working knowledge of JSP standards
  • Extensive knowledge of the Construction, Design Management (CDM) Regulations and must have acted as client or similar role on a construction related project
  • Working knowledge of NEC contracts

Desirable qualifications for the Senior Project Manager:

  • A professional construction qualification in the form of degree, accreditation (APM, Prince 2) or chartered status

This role is 37 hours per week and is based out of our Rosyth facility with an expectation of being onsite 3 days per week on average and will require travel to various Scottish sites across the QinetiQ estate. Please note that all applicants for this role must be eligible for SC clearance, as a minimum.
