About the role

As a member of the Estates Delivery discipline within UK Defence Operations, the Property Operations Site Lead role will provide support and leadership to effectively ensure safe and compliant maintenance for Property Operations assets. The role is responsible for managing delivery to keep the site maintained, statutorily compliant, and operational for core business activities.

Responsibilities

  • Keep good foresight and avoid any potential impacts that Property Operations activities may have on the delivery of business, capability or site tenants, including planning, liaising and communicating with all stakeholders.
  • Deliver a proactive, trained and engaged team; minimise reliance on subcontractor framework and support continuous change management within the Estates function.
  • Ensure effective management with key stakeholders and internal departments such as HSE, tenants, operational functions and MoD where applicable.
  • Identify and lead continuous improvement activities for the site and challenge the current delivery model and services to deliver innovation.
  • Lead on distinct elements as set out by the Property Operations Group Leader, e.g. internal and external audits (ISO 9001, 14001, 45001, 50001), risk register and audit actions, and ensure all health, safety and quality procedures including contractor control and management reporting are delivered on site.
  • Report on operational delivery monthly and identify areas for improvement to the Group Leader.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience of previously leading a team in a facilities or site management environment.
  • Sound understanding of health, safety, environmental & security requirements for activities, operations & sites.
  • Ability to influence and challenge key stakeholders at various levels across the organisation.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and effective collaboration with others; demonstrated promotion of teamwork across national and multinational teams.
  • Advocacy for best practice and capability to provide and deliver solutions for continuous improvement.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to analyse data and solve complex problems to minimise risks and ensure service continuity.

Requirements

Eligible for SC clearance, as a minimum. This role is 37 hours per week based at Benbecula.
