The Role

As a Senior Scientist, you will lead and deliver advanced radar and electronic warfare research and development, helping to shape the next generation of sensing and RF technologies for defence customers. Day-to-day, you will undertake complex technical assignments across radar and EW, providing specialist analysis, developing algorithms and models, supporting customer programmes, and guiding junior team members while working closely with industry and MOD stakeholders to deliver innovative, high-impact solutions.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and delivering complex radar and electronic warfare engineering tasks
  • Developing and applying advanced signal processing and algorithm solutions
  • Supporting system design, modelling, testing and performance assessment activities
  • Working directly with customers to define requirements and present technical outputs
  • Providing technical leadership, mentoring and guidance within the team
  • Contributing to innovation and the development of new capabilities and business opportunities

Essential experience of the Senior Scientist:

  • Demonstrable expertise in radar and/or passive RF sensing, ideally in a defence context
  • Experience across radar waveform design, signal processing, modelling or algorithm development
  • Ability to lead and coordinate technical work within a specialist team
  • Strong problem-solving skills applied to complex, non-routine technical challenges
  • Experience working with customers and stakeholders in a delivery-focused environment
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex technical information clearly

Essential qualifications for the Senior Scientist:

  • Degree in Science or Engineering or equivalent professional qualification
  • Eligibility and willingness to obtain UK Security Clearance, potentially up to DV level

This role is 37 hours per week based at Malvern. Hybrid working patterns are available.
