We are looking for someone with an interest in maritime engineering to join our technical teams in the Maritime Engineering Group. This apprenticeship focuses on supporting technical projects related to ship and submarine hydrodynamics, including stability, seakeeping, manoeuvring, and propulsion. The role involves working in QinetiQ’s large hydrodynamic facilities and using industry-standard or bespoke software tools.

- Highly motivated, dynamic with a positive attitude and values of integrity, collaboration and performance.
- Keen desire to develop and grow technical skills and understanding.
- Some experience of data analysis.
- Programming experience (Matlab, Python, etc.) would be nice but is not required.
- Good written and presentational communication skills, including the ability to convey complex information.
- Strong teamwork, organisation and attention to detail.
Key Accountabilities
- Collaborate with colleagues to deliver customer requirements and provide innovative solutions.
- Ensure work is conducted safely, highlighting hazards and unsafe practices to the Team Lead.
- Actively participate in and encourage increased collaboration across the team.
Qualifications
- Level 6 Manufacturing Engineer Apprenticeship.
- Obtained or predicted 3 A-Levels, including mathematics and preferably a technology subject.
- Five GCSEs at grade C/4, including Maths, Science, English Language and two other subjects.
