The Role
As a Graduate Stealth Scientist, you will contribute to the development of advanced materials and technologies that enhance acoustic stealth capabilities in defence and security applications. Day‑to‑day, you’ll work within a multidisciplinary team to model, test and analyse materials performance in acoustic environments, supporting the delivery of research and development projects from concept through to reporting and customer engagement.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver high quality data analysis and interpretation to support project and customer outcomes
- Develop and apply modelling techniques to assess acoustic performance of materials
- Plan and execute experimental trials including materials characterisation and testing
- Support project delivery to schedule, cost and quality requirements
- Produce technical reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment and ensure compliance with health and safety standards
Essential Experience:
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills with ability to interpret complex data
- Experience with modelling or simulation tools such as MATLAB or similar
- Understanding of acoustic physics, wave propagation or materials science principles
- Ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary technical teams
- Strong written and verbal communication skills including technical reporting
- Good organisation and time management skills with ability to manage tasks effectively
Essential Qualifications:
- Degree in Physics, Applied Physics or closely related discipline
- Demonstrated application of theoretical physics to practical or project‑based work
This role is 37 hours per week based at our Farnborough site with a minimum average site attendance of three days per week.
