The Role

As an Associate Research Engineer (RF Signatures), you will contribute to the development of solutions that reduce and manage platform detectability across land and maritime domains. Day‑to‑day, you’ll support the design, analysis, testing, and delivery of RF signature solutions, working within a multidisciplinary team to solve complex engineering challenges and produce high‑quality technical outputs.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Contribute to RF signature design, analysis, testing, and reporting
  • Support the development of engineering solutions using materials and structural design approaches
  • Produce technical artefacts including CAD models, reports, and engineering documentation
  • Support trials, testing, and validation activities including data analysis and interpretation
  • Work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams and engage with internal stakeholders
  • Identify technical risks and contribute to mitigation activities

Essential experience:

  • Strong engineering analysis and structured problem‑solving skills
  • Experience contributing to engineering design, development, or technical problem solving
  • Competence in CAD tools such as SolidWorks
  • Ability to produce clear and accurate engineering documentation and reports
  • Understanding of core engineering fundamentals including materials and design principles
  • Hands‑on, proactive approach with experience working in multidisciplinary teams

Essential qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline (e.g. Mechanical, Aerospace, Materials)

Working Hours

This role is 37 hours per week based at our Farnborough site with a minimum average site attendance of three days per week.
