QinetiQ is seeking a Commercial Manager to support our defence and technology projects. The role is based at either the Bristol or Malvern site and involves providing commercial and contractual advice across the full project lifecycle, from initial opportunity identification through to contract completion.
Responsibilities
- Provide commercial and contractual support, including customer bidding, export and import controls, risk management, change control, contract drafting, and issue resolution.
- Manage a project portfolio independently and lead negotiations.
- Engage with senior management, influencing decisions up to director level, and may oversee junior team members.
- Support contract management activities throughout all phases of the contract lifecycle.
- Ensure post‑contract processes maintain customer satisfaction.
Essential Experience
- Proven leader in negotiation strategy and planning, capable of influencing up to director level.
- Ability to design and lead on deal structures, gaining buy‑in at director level.
- Strong drafting skills and knowledge of law and practice across a range of agreements (pre‑ and post‑award).
- Experience influencing pricing strategy (price to win, payment, performance, and incentives) to maximise profitability.
- Demonstrated understanding of business budgets and financial objectives.
Essential Qualifications
- University degree in a relevant field or comparable work experience.
- Accreditation to WCC Advanced Practitioner status or higher, or MCIPS qualification.
