Join our team at our Boscombe Down site, responsible for delivering the programme vision, objectives, and benefits across the IDT division.
Responsibilities
- Integrated Planning – Shaping and structuring the programme to accomplish the vision by ensuring the related projects are equipped with the appropriate Project Management Plans.
- Budget & Cost Control – Working closely with the Portfolio Office to ensure programme controls are in place and accurate and timely performance information is available.
- Risk & Issue Management – Proactively identify and assess risks at programme level, plan and implement responses to those risks and respond to issues that affect the programme.
- Reviews – Evaluate the performance of projects within the programme to understand the status of the RAG using performance reporting.
- Stakeholder Engagement – Foster a collaborative approach, engage, influence and collaborate with all stakeholders (internal, including Finance, Commercial, People, Enterprise Services, Portfolio Office, Technical & Supply Chain, and external).
Essential experience
- Applies detailed/in-depth knowledge of programme management, understanding the full project lifecycle.
- Plans and manages programmes and/or processes, working independently with no supervision, providing guidance and advice to others.
- Has detailed/in-depth knowledge of lifecycles and recognized as an expert.
- Implementing and refining strategies and plans within their area of focus independently whilst collaborating with other relevant stakeholders.
Essential qualifications
- APM PMQ, PMI PgMP or AIPM CPPD, Managing Successful Programmes (MSP) Foundation & Practitioner or equivalent certification from an accredited body.
- Recognized expert in Senior Project Management/Programme Management.
Boscombe Down Site
MOD Boscombe Down is a unique operational site featuring the longest military runway in the UK, primarily focusing on providing testing, evaluation and support services for aviation and aerospace systems. The site plays a vital role in the UK’s aviation defence, contributing to the development, testing and airworthiness of military aircraft. Based at Boscombe Down, with a 37‑hour week and a minimum of 3 days of site attendance per week.
