As a Senior Additive Manufacturing Engineer, you will lead high-impact projects, driving the integration of additive manufacturing into advanced materials and devices. Your work will shape solutions that directly support our customers in defence, aerospace and beyond. Day-to-day, you'll provide technical leadership, manage project delivery, engage with customers, and mentor junior engineers – helping to grow our additive manufacturing capability.
Responsibilities
- Leading technical programmes in additive manufacturing projects
- Engaging with customers to understand requirements and deliver solutions
- Providing technical leadership and mentoring to junior engineers
- Leading the qualification and certification of AM parts
- Producing proposals, reports and technical documentation to a high standard
- Supporting business development through bids, proposals and portfolio management
Qualifications
- Extensive experience in additive manufacturing, particularly with metal-based technologies
- Excellent understanding of materials science and its application to AM
- Proven ability to lead projects, manage budgets and deliver outcomes on time and to quality
- Experience of mechanical testing and validation methods (e.g. tensile, hardness)
- Expert knowledge of Design for Additive Manufacturing (DfAM) and CAD/CAM
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including customer engagement
Essential qualifications
- A first degree in Science or Engineering OR equivalent experience (8+ years)

This role is 37 hours per week based at Farnborough. Travel to other QinetiQ and customer sites will be expected.
