As an Associate Field Engineer, you will support the delivery of high-quality technical solutions across one or more technology domains. Day-to-day, under the guidance of senior engineers and architects, you'll contribute to operational tasks, documentation, and service improvements while developing your technical and professional capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the implementation and maintenance of enterprise-grade solutions under the guidance of senior engineers
- Perform basic troubleshooting and escalate complex issues appropriately
- Support day-to-day operational tasks, including monitoring and routine maintenance
- Contribute to the creation and maintenance of technical documentation, runbooks, and knowledge base articles
- Support the collection and reporting of operational metrics and service performance data
- Follow established security, performance, and operational standards
Qualifications & Skills
- Foundational understanding of one or more technology domains (e.g., Infrastructure, Networking, Cloud, End User Computing)
- Awareness of ITIL principles and basic service management concepts
- Exposure to scripting or automation tools (e.g., PowerShell, Python, Bash)
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work as part of a team
- Some experience in technical roles, such as internships, placements, or academic projects within IT or engineering environments
- Exposure to enterprise systems, infrastructure, or support practices
- Degree, apprenticeship, or equivalent qualification in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- Working towards or holding relevant industry certifications (e.g., CompTIA, Microsoft, Cisco, AWS)
- Full and Clean UK Driving License
